How we check our prices and guides

Every CariLori guide and route page is written and checked by the CariLori team. The prices are ranges to plan with, not quotes: suppliers quote the real price for each job.

Who writes the guides

The CariLori team researches and writes every guide and route page. The date under each title shows when its numbers were last checked.

Where the prices come from

  • Published prices of Malaysian operators: price lists and rate cards of movers, lorry, towing, crane, forklift and roro companies. We compare several for each price and give a range, without naming the companies.
  • Official figures where they exist, such as an insurer's free-towing distance, a council's bulky-waste collection or Air Selangor's water-tanker rate. These are named in the guide with the month we checked them.

How the ranges work

  • The low end is a simple job close by; the high end is a bigger, longer or harder one.
  • Prices are for the Klang Valley unless the guide says otherwise. Other states can be cheaper or dearer.
  • Tolls, parking, permits and waiting time are extra unless the guide says they are included.

What we don't do

  • CariLori doesn't set prices, take bookings or handle payments.
  • No supplier pays to be mentioned in a guide or to appear higher in the directory.
  • A guide never presents one company's price as a promise.

How we keep them current

The team rechecks the price guides against current published prices, and sooner when fuel, toll or official rates change. Each page's checked date is its last check.

Questions

Are CariLori's prices quotes?

No. They are typical ranges from published prices. The real price comes from the suppliers who answer your request, so ask for the total in writing.

Why don't the guides name companies?

To stay neutral. CariLori lists suppliers, so the guides compare published prices without favouring any of them.

Who is the CariLori team?

The people who run CariLori, a free Malaysian marketplace for lorries, movers, tow trucks, cranes and other transport. See About CariLori.
