Old furniture disposal in Malaysia (buang perabot lama): free pickup, paid removal or sell

Updated 16 October 2026

How to get rid of old furniture and mattresses in Malaysia: free council bulky-waste collection, paid removal prices, and selling or giving things away.

Free council collection first

In KL, Putrajaya, Pahang, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah and Perlis, bulky waste such as furniture and mattresses is collected once a week by Alam Flora, SWM Environment or E-Idaman: put it out on your area's bulky-waste day. In Selangor, book a pickup in the iClean Selangor app.

Paid removal

When you need it gone on a set day, or there's too much for the council collection. Market ranges (2025–2026):

RemovalTypical price
Per itemabout RM30–RM100
1-ton lorry with 2 workersabout RM250–RM350
3-ton lorry with 3 workersabout RM400–RM600 or more
5-ton lorry, disposal fee includedabout RM700

Market estimates, not CariLori prices. Stairs without a lift and a long carry cost more.

Sell or give it away

  • Sell furniture that still works on Facebook Marketplace, Carousell or Mudah.my.
  • Give it away free in a community or "beli nothing" group.
  • Charities and second-hand buyers may collect furniture in good condition.

A big clear-out?

For a renovation or a whole house of rubbish, a roro bin is often cheaper than several lorry trips: see roro bin rental.
