Lorry rental prices in Malaysia (2026): per trip, per day and per month

Updated 22 October 2026

What a lorry costs in Malaysia per trip, per day and per month, with or without a driver, what the price includes, and what makes it go up — with market ranges from public price lists.

Typical prices per trip

Market ranges from public Malaysian price lists and guides (2024–2026), for a lorry with driver within one city (Klang Valley rates; other cities are often a little lower):

  • Van or 4x4 pickup: from about RM50 for a short trip.
  • 1-ton lorry (10 ft) with 2 crew: about RM250–RM370 per trip.
  • 3-ton lorry (14 ft) with 3 crew: about RM490–RM620 per trip.
  • 5-ton lorry (17 ft) with 3 crew: about RM630–RM790 per trip.
  • 10-ton lorries, trailers and full loads: no published standard rates — these are quoted per job in Malaysia.

These are market estimates, not CariLori prices. CariLori doesn't set prices: suppliers see your request and quote the real price for your exact job — quotes for the same job commonly differ by 20–40%, so compare a few.

A rough price for one trip with driver and crew, from the market ranges in this guide. Suppliers quote the real price.

About RM560 – RM710In-town price about RM490–RM620 covers the first 20 km, then about RM2.40–2.95 per km for the other 30 km. That's about RM11–14 per km over the whole trip.

For a house move or a full load with crew. Lorry-only delivery without crew is often cheaper; tolls, stairs, waiting time and weekends add to the price. 10-ton lorries and trailers are quoted per job.

By the day and by the month

Public Malaysian price lists (2025–2026) for longer hire:

Day rates with a driver usually include the loading crew within the city; outstation trips cost more. Weekly self-drive hire works out cheaper per day. Monthly prices vary widely: long-term contracts sit at the low end, short self-drive monthly hire at the high end. Fuel and tolls are usually extra. Driving yourself? See self-drive lorry rental.

What's usually included — and what's extra

  • Included: the lorry, the driver and fuel. Crew (loaders) are included in the packages above but not in bare "lorry only" rates.
  • Tolls and parking: charged at cost.
  • Waiting time: commonly RM30–50 per 30 minutes after a free first 30 minutes.
  • Extra stops: about RM10–12 per stop.
  • Tailgate (lift at the back): around RM75 when it's an add-on.
  • Extra workers: about RM50–80 per person.

What pushes the price up

  • Distance: interstate trips cost roughly 1.5–2.5 times a local trip — fuel, tolls and the driver's time back.
  • Weekends and month-end: typically 20–30% more, because everyone moves then.
  • Last-minute bookings: 20–50% more. Book a few days ahead when you can.
  • Stairs and distance from the parking spot: more crew time; see the extras above.
