Before you agree a job

For customers and suppliers · Reviewed 10 October 2026

CariLori doesn't check suppliers or customers. A few simple checks protect you before you agree a job.

Customers: check the supplier

  • Look at their profile, photos and years in business. New only means CariLori hasn't reviewed the profile yet.
  • Ask for their SSM registration and any licences, permits or insurance the job needs.
  • Confirm the vehicle or equipment, how many crew, the date and the time.

Agree it in writing

  • Get the total price, what's included and any extra charges in a written quote or WhatsApp message.
  • Agree when and how you will pay. CariLori doesn't hold or refund payments.
  • Agree who is responsible for loading, damage and delays.

Watch out for the deposit scam

  • The most common lorry and moving scam in Malaysia: a "supplier" quotes a low price, pushes you to pay a booking deposit quickly, then disappears on the day.
  • Warning signs: a price far below everyone else's, pressure to pay right now, payment into a personal bank account, and excuses when you ask to call or to see the lorry.
  • Before paying any deposit, check the bank account number on Semak Mule (semakmule.rmp.gov.my), the police's free checking site, and prefer paying a company account, not a person's.
  • If you were scammed, call the National Scam Response Centre at 997 the same day, make a police report, and report the supplier from your contact history so CariLori can suspend them.

Suppliers: check the job

  • Confirm the pickup, destination, access, load size and timing before you quote.
  • Put your quote and payment terms in writing.

If something goes wrong

Report it from your contact history. CariLori can suspend accounts that break the rules, but doesn't settle disputes or payments between customers and suppliers.
