Cari lori sewa: how to find a lorry for hire near you in Malaysia
Six steps to find the right lorry with driver, compare suppliers and avoid the deposit scam, whether you're moving house, sending goods or clearing rubbish.
1. Know what you're moving
List the main items, roughly how many and how heavy. That decides the lorry size. Not sure which size? The lorry size guide explains everything from a 1-ton lorry to a 40-foot trailer.
2. Pick the type of lorry
- Box lorry: closed and dry, for furniture, electronics and cartons.
- Canvas lorry: the sides open, so pallets can be loaded by forklift.
- Open lorry: building materials and machines, strapped and covered.
- Tipper: sand, soil, gravel and rubbish.
- Lorry with a tailgate lift: heavy items when there's no forklift or loading bay.
3. Note what suppliers will ask
- Pickup and drop-off towns, and any stops in between
- Floors, lifts and how close the lorry can park
- The date and a time window
- Whether you need helpers, packing or dismantling
4. Ask several suppliers at once
Calling supplier after supplier takes hours. On CariLori you post one request and suppliers near you with the right lorry contact you by phone or WhatsApp. You choose how many can see your number.
5. Compare quotes properly
- Ask for the total price: lorry, driver, helpers, tolls and parking.
- Check what costs extra: stairs without a lift, waiting time, a second trip.
- Agree when you pay, and how.
- For typical market prices, see lorry rental prices in Malaysia.
6. Stay safe
- Be careful with a price far below everyone else's and pressure to pay a deposit right now. That is the most common lorry scam.
- Check the bank account on Semak Mule (semakmule.rmp.gov.my) before paying, and prefer a company account.
- Get the price and what's included in writing. A WhatsApp message is fine.
- More checks: before you agree a job.
